NIGERIA DECIDES: TODAY FEBRUARY 16 GENERAL ELECTION POSTPONEMENT ISSUE

Consequences of election postponement  at die minute.

(1) Exposes how election materials already distributed by the electoral body.

(2) Makes political parties incur additional cost of logistics (allowances for party agents).

(3) Demoralizes the electorates on the capacity of the electoral body and credibility of its election.

(4) Shows professional incompetency of the electoral body after having 4 years to plan for the election.

(5) Makes electorates incur additional cost and risk of traveling to vote (some from abroad).

(6) Causes voter apathy and low voter turnout on the rescheduled election date.

(7) Indicates insensitivity to taxpayers money by public officials (rearrangement of logistics/security).

(8) Dashes the hope of Nigerians on getting it right on our electoral process.

(9) Creates more chances of election malpractice.

(10) Discouraged alot of electorates, and many might not be patience enough to exercise their franchise come 23/02/19.

11) Social Right of citizens enfriged upon through Cancellation/postponement of wedding, naming ceremony, graduation, house warming, birthday ceremonies today 16/02/19.

Therefore 23/02/19 would still affect and distabilized celebrants across the country with additional cost for some.

This makes this Saturday, today “the Most free Saturday of the year”

All these and many more points are the reasons behind everyone’s greatest disappointment (including the electorates, candidates, and political parties).

My little Resolutions which I think should be the concern of any concerned citizen.

(1) Believe in INEC as an independent commission.

There is reason spell out by the INEC CHAIRMAN “Following a review on the implementation of the logistics and operational plan and with “DETERMINATION” to conduct a “FREE, FAIR and “CREDIBLE” Elections.

Then mentioned the date 23/02 and 09/03 respectively.

2) Support INEC to address any election challenges u know, hear and observe.

He said Further “This will afford the commission the opportunity to address and look into any challenges in order to “MAINTAIN” the quality of our elections”

4) Hold INEC responsible for whatever happens not the Presidency.

It’s paramount we treat INEC as an autonomy and and independent institution, so they know NIGERIANS believe in the INSTITUTION.

He further said ” It’s unpleasant decision for the commission to take but necessary for the successful delivery of the elections and continuation of our democracy” So let’s wait to see.

Truly, Nigerians deserve an unreserved apology from the INEC alone.

However, Nigerians are full of shifting blames, nothing stops us from hailing INEC “If only INEC is protecting our Democracy, and we know and believe”

4) Stop viewing INEC decision from an angle of assumption.

The postponement is not a plus for the government in power, nor for the opposition.

Read so many news about this, think twice (beyond political party interest), listen to other view, digest and have Ur inner peace.

Conclusively, our prayers is needed, required and expected.

“Nigeria is ours” let’s stand by her

Note: “Just because everything is okay at Ur side, doesn’t make it okay everywhere” and we are all in Nigeria.

However, Ur vote still remain Ur right and Ur power.

God bless my country Nigeria
