Ajax, Feyenoord and PSV will play in the Eredivisie next Sunday. What does the Eredivisie program look like? Check it out in the overview below.
12:15: Go Ahead Eagles – PEC Zwolle
Sunday starts with the IJsselderby. PEC Zwolle must visit their main rival Go Ahead Eagles. Both clubs have had a great season in the Eredivisie and both even have a chance to participate in the play-offs for European football. PEC were unbeaten for five straight Eredivisie games and would do the fans a great favor if they won again in Deventer. The last time something like this happened was in 2017. Go Ahead Eagles can once again take advantage of the defeat that NEC suffered at RKC and increase their advantage over the team from Nijmegen to four points in the fight for the play-offs.
14:30: Heerenveen – Ajax
Ajax can return to the top four of the Eredivisie for the first time in months. With AZ stuck with a bloodless 0-0 against FC Volendam on Saturday evening, Ajax could overtake AZ into fourth place. Coach John van 't Schip's team must cope without captain Steven Bergwijn,. Heerenveen waited to win the competition for six matches, but a lot of goals were scored in these six matches: as many as 28 goals, an average of almost five goals per match. Strike: At least five (!) goals have been scored in the last four matches between Heerenveen and Ajax. Ajax won all four.
14:30: FC Utrecht – Fortuna Sittard
In Sittard, this weekend is not only about football, but also Vasteloavend (Limburg Carnival). It's always fun for fans to go to the stadium dressed up. This time, not as a relegation ghost, or even FC Utrecht. After an extremely disappointing start to the season in Utrecht, the situation for the club from Dom is now much better. The team is undefeated in five matches. The winner of FC Utrecht – Fortuna Sittard will be in the left row.
16:45: FC Volendam – PSV
The last time FC Volendam defeated PSV was thirty years ago. In the last round of the Eredivisie (PSV was already secured in third place) the score was 3-2 for Volendam from the fishing village. The club is tied with Vitesse in last place and also lost striker Lequincio Zeefuik to AZ during the winter break. And then PSV, the almost inaccessible leader of the Eredivisie, also comes to visit. However, Feyenoord, FC Utrecht and Ajax have recently shown that Peter Bosz's bastion can also be beaten. Is there a surprise in the air?
20:00: Feyenoord – Sparta
The 21st round of the Eredivisie will end on Sunday as it began: with a derby. Feyenoord hosts city rivals Sparta at De Kuip in Rotterdam. Feyenoord wants to take advantage of the loss of AZ points and increase the advantage over this club to thirteen points. This should already provide some security for the top three. For now, only FC Twente follows Feyenoord, but Ajax is also counting on a few more failures. Sparta is between two fires: it is equal with PEC Zwolle in eighth place (relegation play-offs in Europe), but it is also “only” eight points away from 16th place (relegation play-offs). Will he leave the team or join?
