The English Football Association (FA) is contemplating the possibility of appointing Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, as the potential successor to Gareth Southgate as the head coach of the national team. This consideration arises in the event that Southgate decides to vacate the role following the conclusion of Euro 2024.
As reported by the Daily Mail, Southgate’s departure appears increasingly likely after the tournament, despite his contract running until 2024. The notion of the 53-year-old leading the Three Lions into the 2026 World Cup has not been completely ruled out, however.

Nevertheless, Pep Guardiola is emerging as a prominent candidate for the FA. The primary obstacle lies in his existing contract with Manchester City, which extends until 2025.
Previously, individuals such as Eddie Howe, Mauricio Pochettino, and Graham Potter were considered as potential options for the position. However, the latter two are presently engaged in Premier League managerial roles.
