Mr. Rotimi Onadipe, publisher of internet safety magazine has told mobile phone users worldwide to delete all Apps that they don’t need on their mobile phones to reduce their vulnerabilities to social media addiction.
The publisher stated this while delivering a lecture on internet safety on July 2nd, 2022.
In his opening remarks, Onadipe noted that in our society of today, the use of social media platforms has become a necessity in our daily lives but we must be mindful of the danger it poses to our life when we install many social media Apps on our phones.
According to Onadipe, many internet users install as many social media Apps as possible on their mobile phones and they become addicted to these Apps because they want to reply messages, post or share any trending story or video they see when they are on those social media platforms.

“This is one of the major reasons why many people spend several hours on social media and they ignore or postpone important meetings, programmes and projects that can add value to their lives because they want to know what is happening in all the social media Apps they have on their phones.”
“Social media addiction is dangerous and destructive. Don’t be a victim, check all the Apps on your phone, delete the ones that are not useful to you and leave only those that are useful.
This is a very good way to reduce your vulnerability to social media addiction which is a global challenge of today’s technology age,” he added.
