Crystal Palace Arsenal Highlights

Aubameyang scored first goal and later sees red card

By last week, Arsenal had been stunned by a dominant Leeds United in the first half of their FA Cup third round win. The opening 45 minutes at Selhurst Park couldn’t have been more different.

And earlier before then, It was unchanged from the win over Manchester United on New Year’s Day.

Arsenal started today’s game with the full attacking forces. Hunting for goals as early as possible. They dictated the opening exchanges at Palace, enjoying almost 80% of possession during the first 10 minutes.

Check out what Arsenal Manager, Mikel Arteta have to say before the match;

“It’s an early kick off, and a very difficult ground to come.

Hopefully we are ready from the first minute. I want everybody ready.

The team can compete, and I have the squad to make changes if we need to do that.

It’s a great atmosphere here, it will be tough. It is incredible what Roy Hodgson has done in the game.”

It was rewarded when clever link-up play between Luiz, Mesut Ozil and Alexandre Lacazette helped Aubameyang open the scoring.

A punt from Lacazette putting the Gabon striker through with only Vicente Guaita to beat for his 14th league goal of the season.

At the end of first half, the scoreline was one goal to nothing in favour of Gunners.

However, after the break, David Luiz could do little about his helping hand in Palace’s goal but he almost immediately made up for it, heading onto the roof of the net from a corner.

Meanwhile, Arsenal suffered a huge blow when their top scorer, Aubameyang was sent off for the tackle that left Meyer unable to continue. loan signing Cenk Tosun coming on in his place.

Initially, the Referee gave the striker a yellow card but thanks to Video Assistant Referee (VAR) who later consulted and it was resulted to red card.
