The Magistrate Court in Yaba, Lagos, has ruled that popular singer Abdulazeez Fashola, widely known as Naira Marley, has no case to answer regarding the tragic death of Ilerioluwa Aloba, professionally known as Mohbad.
In a ruling delivered by Magistrate Ejiro Kubenje, the court also acquitted music promoter Samson Balogun, popularly called Sam Larry, as well as Owodunni Ibrahim (known as PrimeBoy) and Mohbad’s former manager, Opere Babatunde. The court found no sufficient evidence linking them to the circumstances that led to the singer’s demise.
Despite the acquittal of these individuals, legal proceedings will continue against Feyisayo Ogedengbe, the auxiliary nurse who administered treatment to Mohbad before his passing. According to the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP), Ogedengbe will be prosecuted for her role in the case, as her actions allegedly contributed to the unfortunate event.

The court’s decision has sparked widespread reactions, with some expressing relief over the acquittal of Naira Marley and others still demanding justice for Mohbad. The case continues to generate public interest as legal actions progress against those still facing prosecution.
