With the fear of Covid-19 and the it’s spreading across the nation, this led FGN to shutdown three International Airports.
As Covid-19 started spreading in Nigeria made The Federal Government of Nigeria officially shut down Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano. Also Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu and the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa.
According to the Director-General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, Capt. Musa Nuhu in a statement released claimed the shutdown was part of its strategic measures to curb the spread of coronavirus across the country.
However, it was reported that Nuhu said the three airports would be closed till further notice effective Saturday, March 21.

Added that the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja and the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos would still be opened but no flight operations will be allowed from the thirteen COVID-19 (Coronavirus) high-risk countries.
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, imposed a travel ban on 13 high risk countries of COVID-19 including UK.
The ban is to take effect from tomorrow, March 21st, 2020.
