Tragedy struck on Christmas Day as a fatal auto accident resulted in the loss of two lives and left another person injured along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
Mrs. Florence Okpe, the spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun, confirmed the incident to reporters in Abeokuta on Monday.
The crash involved a Toyota bus and a Mazda bus, occurring at 5:20 p.m., with Okpe citing speeding and reckless overtaking as the primary causes.
Fifteen individuals, comprising 12 men and three women, were involved in the accident. Unfortunately, two individuals lost their lives, while one person sustained injuries.
The injured individual received immediate medical attention at Idera Hospital in Sagamu, whereas the deceased were taken to the same hospital’s morgue.

In light of this incident, State Sector Commander Anthony Uga urged motorists to prioritize safety, advocating against speeding and emphasizing the importance of attentiveness while driving.
Expressing condolences to the victims’ families, the sector commander encouraged those seeking further information about the crash to reach out to the FRSC office in Sagamu.
