Armstrong sees his close-range effort saved by Kepa. Walcott breaks down the right flank and steers a cross towards Armstrong. He gets a boot on the ball that is deflected behind the body of the Chelsea keeper.
Mykhailo Mudryk is on for Noni Madueke, while Kai Havertz replaces Mason Mount.
Southampton play much better in the last minutes, put Chelsea in trouble and want to get ahead before the end of the first half.

Sterling is denied again. He meets a cross from Havertz from the left flank and beats Bazunu with his header, only to see his effort cleared off the line by Perraud.
Lavia reacts to the follow-up and diverts Sterling’s strike over the top.

Stuart Armstrong, Paul Onuachu and Kamaldeen Suelmara go off.
Job done for those three who will now be forced to watch to see if their team-mates can hold on.
Chelsea cut the visitors open down the right flank through Havertz. He opts against the strike to tee up Sterling, but his goalbound effort is brilliantly blocked by Maitland-Niles.
