Chelsea have told Manchester United star
Anthony Martial that a decision over Antonio
Conte’s future will be made in the next week.
The Blues are expected to sack the Italian boss after two seasons
at Stamford Bridge following the club’s failure to qualify for the
Champions League.
Former Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri is the favourite to replace Conte
but until then the club’s transfer business cannot be completed.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is taking a hands-on approach
as the club plan for their future without Conte and the Blues want
to line up as many deals as possible for Sarri.
Martial, 22, is one of a host of targets that Chelsea have kept
informed about Conte’s future and the Blues have told the
Frenchman that a decision will be made this week, according to
the Daily Mail.
The Frenchman is believed to be considering his future at Old
Trafford and has put off contract talks with the club over concerns
about his lack of playing time.
United would rather sell Martial abroad and the Frenchman will
have to hand in a transfer request to leave Old Trafford.
