Renowned Canadian vocalist Celine Dion is facing challenges with Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS), causing a loss of muscle control, as per recent reports.
In December 2022, the 55-year-old artist disclosed her diagnosis of this incurable condition, which leads to involuntary muscle tensing.
During an interview with Le Journal de Montreal in August 2023, Celine’s elder sister, Claudette Dion, mentioned the ongoing struggle to find effective medication to manage her SPS.
Providing an update on Celine’s health, Claudette, aged 75, shared with 7 Jours, according to Daily Mail, that the singer has experienced a loss of control over her muscles.

“She’s putting in tremendous effort, but unfortunately, she’s facing a loss of muscle control. It’s heartbreaking because discipline has always been her strength,” Claudette expressed.
Claudette also highlighted the challenge posed by the lack of widespread awareness about the illness, mentioning that some individuals have lost hope due to its limited recognition.
