Craig Burley, a former Chelsea player, heavily criticized Nicolas Jackson for his disappointing performance in the Blues’ recent 2-1 defeat against Wolves in the Premier League.
Burley expressed doubts about the Senegal international’s suitability as a primary striker in the Premier League, labeling Chelsea’s attacking front as subpar. On ESPN, he remarked, “They [Chelsea] are struggling in attack. I’m unsure of Nicolas Jackson’s role. He started off playing alongside Broja today, but then there were alterations.”

Highlighting Jackson’s disciplinary record, Burley pointed out, “As a forward, he’s accumulated eight yellow cards, perhaps more than his actual attempts on goal. It’s a concerning statistic and raises questions about recruitment because he doesn’t seem to meet the standards required for a leading Premier League striker.”
Jackson made the move to Chelsea from Villarreal last summer.
