ASAP Rocky, the renowned American rapper born as Rakim Mayers, faces an impending trial concerning alleged involvement in a shooting incident with his former childhood friend, Terell Ephron.
The incident, dating back two years, recently resurfaced in the public eye due to a viral video supposedly capturing ASAP Rocky discharging a handgun in Ephron’s direction.
Following a court hearing’s second day, it was confirmed that ASAP Rocky will indeed stand trial over accusations of firing a pistol during a confrontation with Ephron, leading to minor injuries. Despite the charges, the rapper maintains a plea of not guilty.
ASAP Rocky now confronts two felony counts of assault with a firearm, with potential sentencing of up to nine years in prison if convicted.
The charges emanate from an altercation involving the rapper and Ephron, who was once part of the A$AP Mob hip-hop collective and shared a history with ASAP Rocky from their time in a New York high school.

In a separate legal pursuit, Ephron asserts being a victim of assault, battery, negligence, and emotional distress, alleging that ASAP Rocky intentionally orchestrated a meeting outside the W Hotel in Hollywood on November 6, 2021, to address a disagreement.
Surveillance footage captured the incident, and a circulating video on social media purportedly depicts Rakim wielding and firing a gun.
However, ASAP Rocky’s legal team vehemently denies their client’s presence in the video.
ASAP Rocky, currently romantically involved with music icon Rihanna, ascended to fame within the music industry. The couple shares two children. The rapper’s journey to prominence involved backing from artists like Drake and collaborations with an array of musicians, including Alicia Keys, Lana Del Rey, Skepta, Selena Gomez, and Kendrick Lamar.
