Ancelotti Shares Guardiola’s Gesture Towards Real Madrid Players Post-Defeat.
Real Madrid’s manager, Carlo Ancelotti, disclosed that after their Champions League quarter-final match against Manchester City, Pep Guardiola, the opposing manager, came to the dressing room to extend his congratulations.
The LaLiga champions faced a tense match against Manchester City, requiring a penalty shoot-out to secure their progression in the Champions League. The match ended with a 1-1 draw (4-4 on aggregate) at the Etihad Stadium, but Madrid’s successful penalties allowed them to advance to the semi-finals.
Bernardo Silva and Mateo Kovacic missed their penalties for Guardiola’s team, while Luka Modric missed for Real Madrid.

Despite the tough competition, Los Blancos triumphed and are set to face Bayern Munich in the semi-finals.
Ancelotti praised Guardiola’s sportsmanship, saying, “You have to work hard, sacrifice, and win however you can when playing against City. Pep Guardiola is a true gentleman; he came over to congratulate us and wished us luck in our next match. This is what real sportsmanship looks like,” he shared with Movistar.
