This game could go either way and it’s unclear who will come out on top. Suso lifts a cross into the middle and finds Ocampos but he nods his effort over the top.

This final has extra-time written all over it.

Rakitic slides in to put the ball out for a Roma corner, which is headed clear.

Paulo Dybala’s night is over as he is replaced with Gini Wijnaldum for Roma. His introduction should get the Italian side more control in the middle of the pitch.

Roma need a response to Sevilla’s dominance.

No Country Can Allow N400bn Monthly Subsidy Payment – Group

The Natives group has said that no country can consistently allow N400 billion monthly to a few Nigerians in the name of subsidy.

It said, rather, that the N400 billion per month could be invested in “one million jobs, the digital economy, health, infrastructure, agriculture, education, and incentives.”

It was reported that President Tinubu declared on Monday that there was no provision for fuel in his administration.

“We commend the decision of the outgoing administration in phasing out the petrol subsidy regime, which has increasingly favoured the rich more than the poor. Subsidy can no longer justify its ever-increasing costs in the wake of drying resources.

“We shall instead re-channel the funds into better investment in public infrastructure, education, health care, and jobs that will materially improve the lives of millions,” the President said.

The leader of the group, Smart Edwards, while addressing a press conference on Wednesday in Abuja, said it would never allow anyone to reinstate subsidy which it described as sabotage of citizens’ livelihoods.

The group, therefore, called on the President to give no restraint to the immediate revocation of any licence of saboteurs and deal decisively with any attempt to make life unbearable for citizens by any beneficiary of a subsidy or its removal.

It stressed that it would engage the President meaningfully to ensure that this country is governed under the rule of law and for the prosperity of all Nigerians.

The group stressed that the first burden on the nation was to free the nation from those who held it hostage by fleecing the country’s resources and impoverishing the people.

He said: “We want to state clearly that as citizens of Nigeria, we asked for it, and we will not postpone any doomsday. As a matter of fact, there is no doom.

“We asked every candidate for the removal, we demanded it from the past government, we were assured it will never go beyond June, we formed a coalition for the sector; we got the assurance of Asiwaju, Peter Obi, Atiku Abubakar, the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), the Trade Union Congress (TUC), the political parties, and former President Muhammadu Buhari; we asked the Ministry of Finance; we demanded it from former President Muhammadu Buhari; we asked the Ministry of Finance.

“We demanded it from NNPC Ltd. We gathered civil society for it, and we knew it was coming; it will end in June, and we will never allow anyone to reinstate this sabotage of our livelihoods.”

Tottenham Takes Final Decision On Harry Kane & Man Utd

Tottenham Hotspur will reject any offer from Manchester United for Harry Kane this summer, the Evening Standard reports.

It is understood that Spurs don’t want to sell their star striker to one of their Premier League rivals.

The club are ready to hold onto the 29-year-old and risk losing him for free in June 2024 when his current contract expires.

Manchester United are looking to bring in a new centre-forward ahead of the new season and have made Kane their top target.

However, Kane hinted after the final Premier League game of the season that he could be set to stay at Tottenham.

Chelsea midfielder, Mateo Kovacic could be set for a shock move to Manchester City this summer.

According to football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, the player’s representatives have held talks with the Premier League champions.

The negotiations involved personal terms for Kovacic, who joined the Blues from Real Madrid in 2019.

Romano tweeted on Wednesday: “Manchester City have opened concrete talks to sign Mateo Kovacic in the summer.

Court Sentences Hilton Hotel Owner, Dr Adedoyin To Death For OAU Student, Adegoke’s Murder

The Osun State Chief Judge, Justice Oyebola Ojo has declared that Dr Rahman Adedoyin, owner of Hilton Hotel Ile-Ife, where Timothy Adegoke, an Obafemi Awolowo University postgraduate student was allegedly killed, should die by hanging.

Earlier, the court found Adedoyin culpable of murder.

The Chief Judge in her judgement said the owner of the hotel and two of his workers, based on the circumstances of the case established by the prosecuting counsel, Femi Falana, SAN, are found culpable of conspiracy to commit murder, and unlawful killing of the deceased.

Wiseloaded had reported how Adegoke had lodged in Hilton Hotels and Resorts at Ile-Ife upon his arrival from Abuja on November 5, 2021, to enable him to arrive early for his examination at the OAU Distance Learning Centre, Moro, Osun State, on November 6 and November 7, 2021.

He later went missing and was found dead buried in a grave following a police investigation of the hotel owner, Dr Rahman Adedoyin and its workers.

After Adegoke was declared missing, the police were invited and seven suspects were arrested after which investigation commenced.

A public affairs analyst and environmental enthusiast, Idris Animasaun has written an open letter to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde.

Your Excellency,

I am writing to you to express my concern about the lack of inclusion of indigenous content and vendors at state government events. As a resident of Oyo State, I believe it is important that we celebrate and showcase the rich talent and capacity of our state, and this can only be achieved if we actively seek to include indigenous content and vendors in our events.

Oyo State is blessed with a diverse range of cultures, traditions, practices and talents that make it unique. However, it is unfortunate that these are often overlooked or sidelined at state government events in favour of more mainstream or commercial options or favouritism.This not only deprives Ibadan based vendors and businesses of much-needed exposure and revenue, but also denies attendees the opportunity to experience the richness and diversity of our state.

I therefore urge you to take proactive steps to ensure that indigenous content and vendors are included in all state government events. This could be achieved through initiatives such as giving the opportunity of specific operations such as event planners, event decorators, drinks vendors, MCs, DJs, Skitsmakers, Ushers, Bouncers which indeed we have very competent hands that has not only done well for themselves but also put Oyo state on the map globally and also generated their own quota to the IGR of oyo state with their craft. It is important we create the event space for Ibadan based vendors to showcase their wares.

By including indigenous content and vendors in state government events, we can not only promote our state’s rich cultural heritage, but also support SMEs, businesses and entrepreneurs.

An Ibadan based talent or enterpreneur cannot be engaged in a state event in Lagos state but here we have influx of non Ibadan based talent flood the state events in Oyo state. I urge you to take action on this issue and make Oyo State a shining example of how to celebrate and showcase our culture and talents.
