Recruitment: Nigerian Army Tells Candidates What To Do

Recruitment: Nigerian Army Tell Candidates What To Do

The Nigerian Army has advised prospective recruits to report any individual or group of people requesting gratification from them to its Directorate of Recruitment, Resettlement and Reserve.

Nigerian Army spokesman, Col. Sagir Musa, in a statement on Thursday, also advised the recruits to forward any such complaint to cellphone numbers 09059924328 and 08026569770 for action, NAN reports.

Musa said that this was necessary because it had come to the notice of the army headquarters that some fraudsters were going about defrauding prospective recruits/applicants of “78 Regular Recruit Intake.’’

He disclosed that the fraudsters were requesting for monetary inducement from would-be intakes, promising them enlistment into the Nigerian army.

“In the light of this, the Nigerian army wishes to again alert the public that selection into the service is free (without any charges or inducement) from the point of application online through the NA portal to the last stage of the selection process which are in phases.

“The phases range from credential screening, medical test, physical and mental test, aptitude test and to oral interview.

The selection into the army is also carried out online with the Nigerian army policy and guidelines on recruitment as contained in the Harmonised Terms and Condition of Service Soldiers/Rating and Airmen Revised 2017 Edition to determine and select suitable physically and mentally fit young able bodied men/women for the Nigeria army.’’

The army spokesman relisted some of the guidelines prospective recruits must meet to be enlisted, as follows:

Applicant must be a Nigerian citizen by birth and possess a National identity Card, possess a minimum of four credits in not more than two sittings in WASSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB. One of the credits must be in English language.

Be between the ages of 18 and 22 years for non-tradesmen/women, while tradesmen/women must be between ages of 18 and 26 years at the time of enlistment.

In view of the above, the Nigerian army wishes to advise candidates to desist from giving gratification to anyone in the guise of helping them to gain enlistment into the army.

Prospective candidates/applicants are advised to resist such temptation and have the courage to report such illegal act to the most senior recruitment staff or military police personnel available at the recruitment ground for necessary action.

Musa also reminded the public that the act of giving or receiving bribe was a criminal offence as both giver and receiver were culpable and punishable under the law.

2019 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION: Buhari Victory, Emancipation Of The Masses

2019 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION: Buhari Victory, Emancipation Of The Masses

The Rights and Freedom Advocates (RIFA) has described President Buhari’s victory in 2019 Presidential Election as emancipation of the masses

Press Release

The president of Rights and Freedom Advocates (RIFA), Mr. Soliu Luqman, has described President Muhammadu Buhari’s victory in just concluded 2019 Presidential Election as emancipation of the masses

Nigeria as a nation returned to democratic government in 1999 after several years of military rule.

Rights and Freedom Advocates (RIFA) noted that there have been transitions between then and now although the will of the people have always been suppressed by the few elitist cabals who uses their ill-gotten wealth to blackmail, destabilize and disorganize anyone found to be the man of the people until 2015 when the masses prayer was answered.

Top on the list of these cabals were the privileged media columnists who specialize in destroying any sincere person with their devilish pen believing their readers would lick everything hook, line and sinker.

Typical of that was the false claim by Reuben Abati in one of his satanic write-up that Muhammadu Buhari once said blood would soak if he should lose 2011 election.

When he was sued to present evidence, he apologised and wrote a rejoinder to rebuke his earlier lies.

The other agents provocateur are the religious fanatics who believe in their brethren must always take it all to increase and or sustain what gets to their pocket illegally from public wealth.

Such people used propaganda in electronic and print media to discredit the unique integrity of Muhammadu Buhari but the masses who understand their game played down all their plots.

In fact, some even described President Muhammadu Buhari as a man with fake integrity but such have been challenged on many occasions to try and build just 10% of Buhari integrity which they had failed to achieve today.

So, it is glaring they are only covetous of his overwhelming and stupendous followership.

As the masses in unison spoke in 2015 to elect the father of new Nigeria: President Muhammadu Buhari, who came to expose the ills of our society especially how the wicked opportunistic elites have defrauded the nation for years without the masses having any knowledge of what was going in the corridor of power, they have renewed the voice of hope and rejection of wickedness and saboteurs.

President Buhari came and exposed the arm sleaze ditto to the usual budget padding as well as ghost workers in the nation public sector.

Until he won and was sworn-in, Nigeria had been borrowing to pay salaries while many states were unable to pay their staff salaries due to backlog of debts.

He came with his bail-out fund which made several states to be able to settle their salaries arrears.

As at the time he took over, the window-dressed giant of Africa best economy was in wobble which culminated into economic recession few months later although his economic team was able to overcome it at a fast pace than ever thought by any economic expert in the world.

Before, his ascension into the throne of Nigerian presidency, budget was only prepared and presented to National Assembly (NASS) as a routine annual festival without any significant project done to justify the amount earmarked and stated in the approved budget as civil servants and politicians would have shared the budget among themselves.

In fact, in many cases, 100% upfront payment was made to ghost contractors without any project executed but the money shared among the top government functionaries while the engaged contractors most often received the worst share.

This led to total collapse of the system whereby government officials would not do what they were being paid for until they extort their preys who need public service.

The lawlessness got to the peak that a president once said stealing was not corruption which further exposed the nation to global ridicule.

Despite fraudulent claim by former president Olusegun Obasanjo to have spent $16billion on power, power situation was just a nightmare.

Buhari came with two super Ministers- Raji fashola and Kemi Adeosun and the duo with others strategize to improve the nation power supply.

The hitherto fixed monthly charges of N750 for domestic customers and N18, 000 for commercial power users have been cancelled by Raji Fashola since February 2016 while arbitrary bill has become an offence.

This further demonstrated the government of Muhammadu Buhari as pro-masses which made the few rich people very angry with it as their usual means of extravagant lifestyle were blocked.

They started writing epistles to discredit their business spoiler but the masses rather became more glued to the ordained patriot.

Then they became jittery raising different false alarms including threat to their lives just to elicit sympathy.

There were some areas especially along Lagos-Ibadan expressway that had no power supply for almost a decade before Muhammadu Buhari came into power and today they are enjoying power supply like other parts of Nigeria connected to national grid.

In most of the Federal parastatals and agencies now, the bosses have no much influence again in trampling on the salaries of subordinates that offend them unlike the hitherto practice as the ministry of finance now directly pays most public servants already enrolled in the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS).

Biometric verification number (BVN) launched in February 2014 which has captured 36, 893, 346 residents and or citizens of Nigeria as at February 24,2019 got a boost in its compliance when the new sheriff came.

The project (BVN) has been able to use biometric information as a means of first identifying and verifying all individuals that have account(s) in any Nigerian bank and consequently, as a means of authenticating customer’s identity at point of transactions which thus block a single person from having multiple accounts with different names being used to defraud the state.

Treasury Single Account (TSA) has also been able to control usual spree in the public sector as unified accounts for Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) have restrained unauthorised access to public fund.

Recruitment, promotion and receipt of commensurate benefits are now done with ease especially at the Federal MDAs but there is need for government to engage professional auditors to help check the remaining abnormalities as some legislators pad MDAs budget and after budget approval go to such MDAs to collect the money without signing any document.

Civil servants in such MDAs should commit such dubious legislators to write something for the fraud to be traceable.

For the first time in the last 20 years, Nigeria witnessed a regime that would not experience pensioners’ protest leading to death of aged people on their way to authorities to claim their entitlements or sale of national assets to cronies.

The country has been able to be recognised by United Nation (UN) as being led by the best global president of the decade.

The gory experience of thousands of Nigerians made to suffer under bogus employment opportunities became a history as different agencies such as police, road safety, immigration, etc have employed staff without record of any stampede.

Npower-volunteers were engaged with ease and they collect their stipends without having to settle anyone to even get employment unlike in the past where people were made to part with money or other things such as sexual gratification.

The FADAMA youths beneficiaries did their enrolment, selection and training with ease. While some have collected their grants which ran into million of Naira others are waiting to receive theirs.

The Presidential Youths empowerment Scheme (P-YES) is another initiative among others currently being implemented by Buhari-led government to save the nation from quagmire of unemployment.

Many bigwigs have been arrested, prosecuted and sentenced for various fraudulent cases which marked the first genuine effort to check the large scale pen-robbery by the elites.

However, the “saraki-dogaratization” (which is a concept implying dubious characters finding various means to defraud the nation without making it public and that whoever tries to expose them is either suspended or victimised) of national assembly has the worst toll on the nation progress.

Budgets were either delayed for possible way to pad it or it is padded directly.

Unfortunately, we have a lawyer-speaker who was supposed to know the law better but was justifying criminality that budget padding was not an offence as if he did not read Economic and Financial Crime Commission Act which made it criminal for any public official to present false document for public use.

The saraki-dogaratized Nationally assembly surreptitiously worked against the nation when it passed an amended electoral Act that removed counting ballots and replaced it with transmission of election result to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) database directly especially through compromised INEC staff.

The same assembly has failed to pass law that will criminalize corruption and setup special court for trial of accused corrupt public officials.

How could result be transmitted if not counted except some perfidious elements were working against free and fair election in the country?

President Buhari however caused the mess for not assisting in electing patriots as leaders of the National Assembly.

Now that he has secured second-term ticket from the masses who felt his giant economic stride that stabilized the nation economy, there is need to ensure only patriots emerge as the leaders of the two chambers of National Assembly this year.

The tragic era of Saraki and Dogara leadership must not be allowed to repeat itself in the next National Assembly.

Roads, rail, power project, airport, bridges, etc have been completed by Buhari administration while some are work-in-progress, salaries and pension arrears have been settled even the ones owed by those that sold our national assets at very low prices to their cronies which sent millions of Nigerians to unemployment market while others have died in the search for greener pasture.

As masses have, in unison, ignored the blackmailing of President Muhammadu Buhari by his adversaries who thrive in evils and saw him as killing their illicit businesses, the President should consolidate his current attainment by probing further those who have defrauded the nation, implement policies that would further restore the middle class and make it difficult for those at corridors of power to abuse government positions for self-aggrandisement.

The executive should propose a law that will make our legislators not earning above a permanent secretary while a corresponding allowance equal same amount should be for their aides.

By then, only the activists and patriots will be vying for political posts.

The current practice where the national assembly just toy with our national wealth should cease.

On this note, RIFA appreciate the security agencies, INEC officials, local and international observers, the electorates who trooped out to express their wish and the internal communities for their support towards a hitch-free presidential election in Nigeria.

RIFA urge all to extend same support and commitment to the remaining election and continue to pray for Nigeria to have patriots as its leaders. With Buhari, God has broadened our hope in His support for Nigerian liberation from the oppressors as the masses can now feel a sigh of relief.

On the last note, we urge other contestants to accept the result and join hands with the President to move Nigeria forward.

Jurgen Klopp went on the pitch at the full-time whistle to applaud Liverpool’s fans and headed back to the dressing room with his arm draped around Alexander-Arnold’s shoulder.

The 20-year-old England defender marked his return to the side, after being left out of Sunday’s draw at Manchester United, with an outstanding performance which included three assists as poor Watford were put to the sword.

Alexander-Arnold’s pace caused the Hornets’ defence all sorts of problems while Adam Masina had a torrid evening at the hands of Salah.

This was a timely return to winning ways for Liverpool after one win in their previous five league and cup games.

Mane’s header set them on their way but it was his second which showed Liverpool had their swagger back – a spectacular backheel past Foster.

Origi has been a spectator for most of the season, but with Roberto Firmino missing because of an ankle injury, the Belgium forward marked his rare appearance with a right-foot finish.

Van Dijk had scored one goal for his club before this game but found the net twice in the space of three minutes as Watford caved in.

If Barcelona make it to the Copa del Rey final today, they’ll become the first team in the competition’s history to make six consecutive finals. That’s not just dominance in football years; that’s almost a dynasty. Can Madrid wrestle back the crown?

Madrid boss Santiago Solari makes two changes from his feisty 2-1 victory over Levante last weekend as Navas and Varane step in for Courtois and Nacho.

Bale remains benched. Madrid’s youth product Reguilon, who’s been keeping Marcelo out of the team recently, will face his biggest test yet in keeping Messi at bay.

Barca also start a strong XI with Lenglet, Roberto and Dembele entering the fray. Messi, unlike the first leg, starts this game after his hat-trick against Sevilla.

Adebayo Adelabu Reveals Why Politicians Don’t Invest In Their States

Adebayo Adelabu Reveals Why Politicians Don’t Invest In Their States
Adebayo Adelabu

APC Gubernatorial candidate in Oyo State, Mr. Adebayo Adelabu has explained the reason why many of the politicians in Nigeria do not invest in their states.

Mr. Adebayo Adelabu, while addressing journalists in Ibadan, the state capital, declared that most politicians don’t invest in their states “because of fear of attacks” on their investments, family members and property by the people who know the locations of their investments “when they mess up”.

The APC Guber Candidate, who also weighed in on the death of a young secondary school leaver who was shoot dead on the day of elections, urged the police command to investigate the matter and brought the perpetrators to book.

He said;

“Majority of politicians in Nigeria don’t invest in their states.

Typical politicians will not invest in their state where they do politics because of the fear of being attacked.

They will not invest in their states because they know that the people will attack them and their investments when they are not performing and when they mess up.

Go and check, that is why they don’t invest in the state where they do politics. Ask them, what is their investments in Oyo state.

I have investments in Oyo state more than any of them.

I have been investing in the state over the years. Go and check.

I have a foundation that is taking care of the aged, I have been given scholarship to students for many years and I have investments across the state.

I have investments in the state more than any of them who said he want to govern the state.

But, I decided to join politics because of the love for the people. I am not mad.

How can you leave certainty for uncertainty? I left my position as CBN Deputy Governor (Operations) for politics. I will not resign if I don’t stand a chance.”

The Rise And Fall Of The Saraki Dynasty – A.A Galadima

The Rise And Fall Of The Saraki Dynasty - A.A Galadima
The Rise And Fall Of The Saraki Dynasty

The Rise And Fall Of The Saraki Dynasty: In a show of frustration, chanting the “O to ge” slogan meaning “enough is enough” the people of Kwara State mobilized massively to vote against the Saraki Dynasty,

The Rise And Fall Of The Saraki Dynasty
Finally, we are beginning to see him sweat. Bukola Saraki created for himself the reputation of a shrewd politician capable of winning elections and coasting his party to electoral victory at all times in Kwara State.
As the “Political leader” in the state, no one dared aspire to any political position without prior endorsement from the so-called godfather of Kwara politics.
Or so it was, before the recent Presidential and National Assembly elections that took place on Saturday.
In a show of frustration, chanting the “O to ge” slogan meaning “enough is enough” the people of Kwara State mobilized massively to vote against the Saraki Dynasty, the machinery that had held the state to ransom, producing every Governor since 1979.
Before the just concluded elections, the signs had started to show during the bye- elections that took place late last year in the state.
APC snatched the House of Representatives seat that was up for grabs in Kwara South, following the demise of Hon. Funke Adedoyin.
Before Bukola, there was his father, Olusola. The late Olusola Saraki was popular across the state. He was loved, admired, feared and supported.
He understood the people’s pains and didn’t interfere much in the process of choosing party candidates at various levels.
He allowed local party chapters to choose their flag bearers and this made it easy for him to always deliver Kwara at the polls, only interfering occasionally.
He produced Adamu Attah, the Egbira Prince, as Governor in the First Republic. Olusola later produced other Governors namely Cornelius Adebayo, Mohammed Shaba Lafiagi, Mohammed Lawal and Bukola, his son.
Bukola emerged in Kwara political scene in 2002 after his father fell out with then then governor of the state, Late Admiral Mohammed Lawal.
The then strongman of Kwara politics Olusola Saraki defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the All Nigeria Peoples Party.
I remember reading in one of the Nigerian Tribune editions published in 2002, a few months to the general elections of 2003 where the senior Saraki was quoted as bragging that “I have made three Executive Governors in Kwara State. The fourth one, Bukola my son, is coming.”
The next year, the Oloye, as he was popularly called, fielded his son Bukola to run against Lawal, beating the latter at the polls to emerge as Kwara State Governor.
The father’s prediction came to past. Bukola held sway as Governor from 2003 to 2011.
As Bukola was leaving government house, he snatched party structures in the state from his father and fielded his best friend the then state commissioner of finance Abdulfatah Ahmed.
But Bukola refused to follow the old man’s footsteps of allowing local party structures to select popular candidates for positions of Local Government Chairman, Member State House of Assembly, Member House of Representatives, Senate and office of the Governor.
He didn’t want smart, popular candidates to emerge on the political scene with the attendant risk of having them gain popularity and acquire resources to challenge his authority in the future. Bukola preferred to dominate the scene.
He singlehandedly nominated everyone who would run for office in Kwara with the exception of only councillorship positions, which he considered too micro to attract his attention.
In the period that he reigned as the political leader in Kwara, Bukola used everything at his disposal to achieve his aim.
While most Kwarans know Saraki as an oppressive, arrogant political leader with inferiority complex, other Nigerians only saw him as a statesman and political heavyweight who could pull any election in his home state.
Even the Nigerian press made his name synonymous to popularity in Kwara.
What a tragedy! Most people never read in between the lines to see that Bukola has always had federal might going for him all through his political career.
The Rise And Fall Of The Saraki Dynasty - A.A Galadima
The rise and fall of the Saraki dynasty
In 2003, 2007 and 2011 he was a member of the PDP and he and his candidates coasted to victory using state government money, incumbency and federal might (including heavy deployment of security agents to intimidate voters during elections).
The election that led to his emergence as a first-time senator in 2011 was largely believed by people in Ilorin to have been won by Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe, but Bukola used federal powers to sway things his way. Today, Oloriegbe has taken back his madate.
The first time Bukola Saraki and his candidates contested elections on a party that was not in control of the federal government was in 2015.
In that instance, he and his men rode on the Muhammadu Buhari bandwagon to scale through.
In 2019 Bukola Saraki and his anointed men in Kwara contested elections against the Buhari bandwagon and against federal might.
To make matters worse for them, that federal might is Buhari himself. During last Saturday’s elections (February 23rd 2019) Saraki and all his PDP travelers got a bloody nose.
APC won all Senatorial and House of Representatives seats in the state, the first time power in the state has evaded the Saraki Dynasty since 1979, exactly four decades ago.
Bukola has never been a democrat. During his reign, nobody was allowed to buy expression of interest forms for any elective position in his party in Kwara.
He would buy up all the forms and share to “anointed” candidates. A great departure from what the situation should be in a democracy.
The only time he allowed a something that looked like a contest was in 2018 between his lackeys Hon.
Zakari Mohammed, Bolaji Abdullahi, Razaq Atunwa etc. Even at that, he prevailed on them to step down for Atunwa.
Bukola is a very arrogant. I heard personal stories of some Senators in the 7th Assembly (2011 to 2015) who complained that if you were not a former governor in the Senate, Saraki would snub you in the chambers, declining to shake hands with you.
He began to become friendly to “lesser mortals” when he wanted to become Senate President after the 2015 elections.
After the APC won majority seats in the Senate in 2015, Bukola started scheming to be Senate President, even though some party stalwarts didn’t want that.
He had to resort to anti-party activitiesto get the seat by conceding the position of Deputy Senate President to the opposition PDP.
While many Nigerians celebrated his emergence as President of the Senate through treachery, many politicians from Kwara were appalled and disgusted because he had severely punished some of them for minor anti-party activities that were not as horrible as what he did to become Senate President.
Tomorrow, February 26, 2019, Bukola’s Senate will reconvene. He will use his lackeys Senator Rafiu Adebayo Ibrahim or Senator Shaba Lafiagi to give a false account of what transpired in Kwara on Saturday.
They will use phrases such as “voter intimidation”, “Killing of PDP supporters”, “the elections were rigged” “democracy is under attack” blah, blah, blah. He has good propaganda machinery.
The people of Kwara will not be bothered. The chicken has come home to roost.
As the nation prepares for the gubernatorial elections in less than two weeks, Kwarans are plotting a retirement plan for Saraki’s boy Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed a.k.a “Maigida”.
We shall return home and vote in a similar pattern to send these oppressors to permanent retirement.
Until then, we have to celebrate. As a devout Muslim, I don’t drink bear.
But I can do with zobo or kunun zaki. Here’s a toast to the fall of the oldest political dynasty in Nigeria.
Good bye Bukky. O to ge!

Chidoka Rejects Presidential Results From North And Keyamo Reacts

Chidoka Rejects Presidential Results From North And Keyamo Reacts

The spokespersons for the Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign Organisation, Osita Chidoka on Tuesday queried Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, over presidential results from the northern part of Nigeria.

Presidential Results

Osita Chidoka, speaking at the collation center in Abuja, expressed worries at the figures released by the commission from some northern states.

Chidoka, therefore, asked the INEC boss, Professor Yakubu Mahmood, to provide details of the accreditation of voters captured by card readers in the general elections

Chidoka said:

“The issue before us Mr. Chairman is that we will appreciate, and we feel very strongly about this and the PDP Chairman (Mr. Uche Secondus) has written you a letter.

We are worried that the promise you made and the commitment INEC made that as we are carrying out this collation of results.

That you will project the details of the accreditations captured by your card readers in the country.

“On Monday, our colleague raised the issue and we thought that when we come in this morning as we were listening to the states, we will be seeing the accreditation by states and by your card readers.”

But, Spokesman to the Muhammadu Buhari Campaign Organisation, Festus Keyamo quoting the Constitution disagreed with Atiku’s spokesman over the presidential results from the north.

Keyamo said the PDP spokesman’s request goes contrary to Clauses 32 and 35 of INEC’s regulations.

He said:

“I just want to react to what my colleague of the PDP said.

My simple reaction is that what we are doing here is guided by law and the regulations of INEC.

In the regulations of INEC, if one looks at Clauses 32 to 35, it clearly states the powers of the Chairman of INEC sitting at this Collation Centre.

Those powers of INEC Chairman does not involve the inquisition, the type of inquisition that my friend is asking for.

“The details that my friend is asking for amounts to an inquisition into the results submitted to the Chairman of INEC.

There is a proper avenue into how many people were captured by the card readers and all of that and compared into the results.

That is not the duties of the Chairman sitting at this Collation Centre and those procedures are clearly spelt out there.

So for us as a party, for my candidate, we are totally objecting to that procedure here.”

Professor Yakubu urges Chidoka to Channels his request and evidence to the Commission’s headquarters over the presidential results in response.
