13 Injured In Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Accident

A collision on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway resulted in injuries to no fewer than 13 passengers. The incident took place during the early hours of Sunday near Car Park C in Ogun State, as reported by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC). The crash occurred at approximately 4:55 am.

Florence Okpe, the FRSC spokesperson in Ogun State, confirmed the accident, stating that immediate rescue operations were undertaken by FRSC operatives. Out of the 22 individuals involved in the collision, 21 were male adults, and one was a female adult.

According to Okpe, 13 individuals sustained injuries, comprising 12 male adults and one female adult. Fortunately, there were no reported fatalities from the incident.

The collision involved three trucks with the following number plates: KBT205XB, KJA230Y, and DUT35XE. Additionally, a Toyota Corolla car registered as MUS793HM and a Toyota Hiace bus marked FG369-F20 were part of the accident.

Preliminary investigations suggest that road obstruction and speeding were potential causes of the collision, resulting in a loss of control.

Okpe mentioned that the injured individuals were promptly taken to Farmobis Hospital Mowe Lotto for necessary medical attention.

In response to the incident, Anthony Uga, the Ogun Sector Commander of the FRSC, advised motorists to exercise caution on the roads, emphasizing the importance of defensive driving practices.
